The agreement

By using Spine (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. Spine is a digital bookshelf for organizing, arranging, and tracking the books you own and read. It is made by Tundra Industries (“we”).

Paying for Spine

Spine is free to download and use with a limited library (up to 25 books, one shelf, and three themes). Spine+ removes every limit — unlimited books and shelves, all themes, reading sessions and statistics, quote capture, and shelfie export.

You can pay for Spine+ whichever way suits you, billed through your Apple ID:

  • Spine+ Monthly — $1.99 per month, auto-renewing subscription
  • Spine+ Annual — $9.99 per year, auto-renewing subscription
  • Spine+ Forever — $19.99 one-time purchase, no renewal, no expiry

Auto-renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Unused portions of a period are handled per Apple's standard policy. Refunds are requested through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Restore Purchases is available in the App's Settings. If you reinstall on the same Apple ID, your purchase or active subscription is restored at no charge.

Your content and book data

Your library, shelves, quotes, and reading history are yours and live on your device. Book covers and metadata are retrieved from Open Library and Google Books at your request; we don't claim ownership of cover artwork, which belongs to its respective publishers and is displayed for identification of books in your personal collection. Photographs you take (custom covers, quote pages) stay on your device.

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
  • Use the App to infringe others' intellectual property, including redistributing cover artwork commercially
  • Use the App in violation of any law

Availability & warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Cover search depends on third-party services (Open Library, Google Books) and an internet connection; we can't guarantee every book is found or that those services are always available. Your shelf itself works offline.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TUNDRA INDUSTRIES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

Changes & termination

We may update the App and these Terms over time; when we do, we update the “Last updated” date above. We may suspend access for misuse. You can stop using and delete the App at any time.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that state.
